Petronas
IO MOC Upgrades & Flare Knockout Replacement 2023–2024
Scope
Executed multiple IO MOC upgrades across various Petronas facilities in NEBC – Replaced an underground flare knockout system during late winter under challenging conditions
Strategy
The underground flare knockout replacement was completed during harsh winter conditions, requiring careful planning and execution. Despite the environmental challenges, the project was delivered without any safety incidents. Our crews utilized excavators, pickers, and trucks to manage equipment removal and installation, while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and ground disturbance regulations.

Throughout the project, we worked closely with Petronas engineering and operations teams to ensure all upgrades and replacements met technical and regulatory requirements. Our commitment to safety and operational excellence was demonstrated by the incident-free execution of all tasks, even under adverse weather conditions.

Net Replacement & Repair Projects 2022-2024
Scope
The work involved the removal, repair, and replacement of extensive safety netting systems designed to prevent wildlife from accessing hazardous water bodies. Given the scale and complexity of the installations, large cranes were deployed to manage the heavy-duty netting structures safely and efficiently.
Strategy
These projects were carried out in harsh environmental conditions, including high winds, snow loads, and remote site access. Our crews adhered to strict safety protocols and ground disturbance practices to ensure minimal environmental impact and zero incidents throughout the operations

Tourmaline C-38-C Aitken Creek Gas Plant
2024 Turnaround
Scope
Our team provides complete support for critical maintenance and turnaround activities, including vessel inspections and bundle pulls to ensure equipment reliability. We handle PSV removal and reinstallation with precision and full regulatory compliance, while coordinating MOC requirements closely with engineering teams. Every step is backed by thorough documentation and QA/QC processes, ensuring safe, efficient execution and a seamless return to service
Strategy
This turnaround was planned in parallel with the NorthRiver 2024 project and executed immediately after, both without incident.
Safety
Completed on time, within budget, and with zero safety incidents—reinforcing our reputation for reliability.
AltaGas
2025 Turnaround
Scope
We completed back-to-back turnarounds at the Townsend T2B and Mercaptan plants, followed by the North Pine Liquids Processing Plant.
Strategy
DW Wilson successfully executed multiple MOC projects in collaboration with engineering, addressing found work as it arose during execution. The project was managed by two dedicated teams, each led by an experienced Superintendent. Acting as the prime contractor, DW Wilson oversaw safety management, coordinated wash crews, and handled all supporting infrastructure throughout the project.
Safety
Despite a 5% budget stretch due to scope expansion and found work, all projects were completed safely and on schedule, with full documentation.
NorthRiver Midstream Jedney Gas Plant
2024 Turnaround
Scope
Our team provides comprehensive support for maintenance and turnaround activities, including bundle pulling and vessel inspections to ensure equipment integrity. We handle all weld repairs and PSV removal, testing, and reinstallation with precision and compliance. In addition, we execute MOC projects in coordination with engineering teams, managing all necessary documentation and ensuring a safe, efficient return to service.
Strategy
While executing the NorthRiver turnaround, we were simultaneously planning the Tourmaline 2024 project. Both were completed back-to-back, on time, and without incident

BC-ER Orphan Fund Decomm
2024 Decommissioning & Abandonment Project
Scope
The scope of work included the removal of all equipment using trucks and pickers, with on-site shears deployed to cut and dismantle large components. All pipelines were pigged clean, then cut and securely capped at the lease edge. Excavation activities were carried out using an excavator, strictly adhering to ground disturbance safe work practices throughout the operation.
Strategy
This successful decommissioning and abandonment effort reflects our commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and professional execution. We are proud to support the BC-ER Orphan Fund in restoring and reclaiming inactive sites across British Columbia.
